Prehistoric Farm: How to Use the DNA Lab and Get an Egg
Take a completed Prehistoric Farm creature set to Dr. Ivy, use Get Egg, and check the extraction result before hatching.
Use the DNA Lab in Prehistoric Farm after a creature's fossil set is complete. Go to Dr. Ivy's station on Home Island, choose the completed creature and use Get Egg. The output is that creature's egg, which then needs an incubator.
This gameplay recording shows the return to the fossil station after a set becomes ready. It helps distinguish the ready-set exchange from the later hatch timer.
Confirm the set before the exchange
For Cambrian, each creature requires five fossils. Check the count for the creature you want; pieces for another creature do not satisfy it. If the set is incomplete, return to the appropriate Dig Site rather than repeatedly attempting an unready extraction.
The broad island-size rule does not identify every island's classification. Use the actual creature requirement when you are outside Cambrian instead of assuming all sets cost five pieces.
Use Get Egg at Dr. Ivy's station
Dr. Ivy's DNA Lab, also called the Fossil Station, is on Home Island. The named extraction action is Get Egg. Keep the completed creature's identity in view so you know which egg the exchange is meant to produce.
Exact menu positions and a general extraction coin charge are not established here. Follow the actual available station action rather than a guessed screen location. Check the obtained egg before moving on to incubation.
Recheck inventory and move to hatching
Counts can exceed the set threshold, but whether extra pieces carry over after extraction remains unresolved. Inspect the new count before deciding the same creature is ready for another egg. This check matters if you are collecting repeated copies or considering selling surplus.
Use the DNA Lab guide for the service's purpose and complete fossil sets for tracking requirements. After receiving the egg, put it in an unlocked incubator. The lab finishes the fossil-to-egg task; it does not replace the incubation timer or the care the hatched creature needs.
