Prehistoric Farm DNA Lab Guide: Completed Sets and Extraction

Last updated 2026-10-06Unofficial player article

Understand the Prehistoric Farm DNA Lab input and output, find Dr. Ivy on Home Island, and separate extraction from incubation.

Dr. Ivy's DNA Lab in Prehistoric Farm exchanges a completed creature fossil set for that creature's egg. The lab is on Home Island and is also described as the Fossil Station. It connects island collection to the incubator stage of ranch progression.

This gameplay video returns to the home fossil station after collecting a ready set. Watch the station interaction separately from the later egg placement.

Bring a completed creature set

The lab needs the set for a creature, not an assortment of unrelated fossils. Cambrian creatures each need five pieces. Check the selected creature's count before making extraction the next task; a nearly complete set still needs its missing pieces.

Fossils come from marked island Dig Sites. The lab uses completed collections rather than replacing the digging activity. Coin or treasure rewards from a dig do not become creature pieces simply because you take them home.

Find the service on Home Island

Look for Dr. Ivy and the DNA Lab or Fossil Station naming at the home base. Home Island also has the ranch and other services, so distinguish the extraction station from the incubator where an acquired egg is warmed.

Use Get Egg for a completed creature set. The documented result is its egg. An egg still needs incubation; extracting one does not directly produce an Adult or Elder dinosaur.

Inspect the result before planning another extraction

Inventory may exceed a set's threshold, but surplus carryover after Get Egg is not established. Check the new creature count after the exchange before assuming a second egg is ready. A general coin charge for extraction is also not established here.

For the action sequence, use how to use the DNA Lab. For missing pieces, use complete fossil sets. Those pages answer different blockers: finding the exchange service and satisfying its input. Once the egg is obtained, follow the incubator step rather than continuing to interact with the fossil station.
