Prehistoric Farm Dinosaur Feeding: Food, Diet, and Belly
Feed Prehistoric Farm dinosaurs from the hotbar, choose compatible food, and keep Belly above half full for growth.
Feed a dinosaur in Prehistoric Farm with food compatible with its diet. On the documented keyboard setup, put food in the hotbar, stand near the dinosaur on the ranch and press F. Keep Belly above half full so the creature continues growing.
The gameplay video ends with ranch care after digging, fishing and hatching. Watch that care step as a separate action from obtaining another egg.
Choose food before using the feeding action
Bramble's Feed on Home Island sells meat for 12 coins and vegetables for 8 coins each. Match the food to the creature's diet. Meat-eaters can also eat fish caught by the player, but that is not a rule that every dinosaur accepts fish.
Before buying a large quantity, decide which creature the food is for. A cheaper item is not useful for this task if it is incompatible with the animal you intend to feed. Habitat and rarity alone do not identify its diet.
Put the compatible food in the hotbar
Select the food, approach the dinosaur on the ranch and use F on keyboard. F can also relate to fossils in another context, so keep the nearby creature and selected food in view. These instructions do not establish a controller or touch-button position.
After feeding, check the creature's Belly. The amount restored by one food item is not established, so there is no honest fixed number of meals here that guarantees a particular fullness level.
Keep the growth condition satisfied
The official rule is over half full. Aim above 50% rather than relying on an unspecified exact-boundary behavior at half. A food purchase alone does not maintain that condition; the relevant result is the creature's actual fullness after feeding.
Use dinosaur not growing when growth has stalled, or growth stages when you want to understand what comes next. Keeping compatible food available is useful, but check the individual dinosaur instead of assuming one care stop covers every animal on the ranch.
