Prehistoric Farm Shovel Tier List: Period Coverage and Luck
Compare five Prehistoric Farm shovels with an editorial ranking based on period coverage, Fossil Luck and coin multipliers.
This Prehistoric Farm shovel tier list ranks period coverage and listed Fossil Luck first, then the coin multiplier. It is an editorial progression comparison, not an official grade or a claim that every beginner should immediately buy the highest-priced tool.
The gameplay video shows why tool access matters: the player reaches Triassic but needs a Silver Shovel to dig. Compare tools for the period you want to use.
Compare grades with the same criteria
Titanium leads the documented list for coverage through Cretaceous and 1.40× Fossil Luck. Iron reaches Jurassic with 1.20× Luck. Silver reaches Triassic at 1.10×, Bronze Devonian at 1.05×, and Wooden supports Cambrian at 1.00×.
| Grade | Shovel | Coverage | Luck / coins |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Titanium | Through Cretaceous | 1.40× / 1.30× |
| A | Iron | Through Jurassic | 1.20× / 1.15× |
| B | Silver | Through Triassic | 1.10× / 1.10× |
| C | Bronze | Cambrian and Devonian | 1.05× / 1.05× |
| C | Wooden | Cambrian starter | 1.00× / 1.00× |
Choose for your next period and budget
Wooden already supports a first Cambrian set, so its lower grade does not make it useless. Bronze is the relevant documented access improvement for Devonian. A later grade becomes useful when its supported period matches your destination and the current shop requirements are affordable.
Bronze and Silver prices conflict between recorded sources. Check the live offers instead of budgeting either as one settled price. Iron is documented at 50,000 coins and Titanium at 150,000, with exact material sources unresolved.
Keep the ranking within its scope
Luck multipliers are comparative attributes, not exact drop probabilities. The grades do not rank boat travel, sea combat or guaranteed rare-find speed. Green-zone release remains the digging action for a better find.
Use the shovel guide for the attributes and digging timing for the release action. Keep a useful starter until the next period or attribute improvement gives a concrete reason to upgrade.
